The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) is a community-based natural resource management agency that works to protect, enhance, and sustain healthy watersheds. With 60 years of experience, the NPCA offers watershed programs and services that focus on flood and hazard management, source water protection, species protection, ecosystem restoration, community stewardship, and land management.
The NPCA is one of 36 Conservation Authorities in the Province of Ontario. With 41 Conservation Areas within the Niagara Peninsula watershed, the NPCA manages lands that are held in public trust for recreation, heritage preservation, conservation, and education. These natural and shared greenspaces marry nature, culture and adventure to create limitless opportunities for discovery.

Summary of Duties
The Outdoor Educator is responsible for delivery of the NPCA nature school curriculum to students. The incumbent will provide high quality education in a primarily outdoor environment while ensuring the health and safety of all students.

Duties and Responsibilities
(a) Delivers high quality, curriculum linked, experiential outdoor education lessons in line with the NPCA Nature School curriculum
(b) Assists in developing supporting program documents including work sheets and activities
(c) Develop daily teaching plans that align with child-led, inquiry-based learning principles
(d) Maintains productive relationships with program participants and their guardians facilitating open dialogue to enhance the learning experience
(e) Liaise with other NPCA staff and partners as experts in providing programming content

• Diploma from a recognized college in Outdoor Education, Early Childhood Education or a related field
• 1 year experience delivering educational programming in an early-years/primary environment
• Certified Early Childhood Educator or Ontario Certified Teacher an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary: $20.00/hr
