Having heard from many of our partners and stakeholders in the community during the final stage of our Policy Review, the NPCA Board of Directors has approved extending the commenting period for the draft NPCA policy document (The Living Landscape) to September 30, 2017.
The NPCA is updating its policy document currently called, "Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines for the Administration of Ontario Regulation 155/06 and Land Use Planning Policy Document (2011)". The new Policy titled The Living Landscape sets out the NPCA’s commitment to a watershed-based planning approach and will be used by staff and agencies as the primary tool for decision-making within the NPCA’s area of jurisdiction.
The policy review process incorporates three phases and will result in an updated Policy Document for the NPCA.
- Phase one: website launch, public engagement, and background review
- Phase two: analysis of the existing policy, identification of issues or gaps, stakeholders, and public engagement
- Phase three (in progress): rewriting/revising policy for final review and approval by the NPCA Board.
