JOIN NPCA FOR 3 VOLUNTEER STEWARDSHIP DAYS!
NPCA has been managing invasive species at EC Brown Conservation Area for the past several years, with partners like Niagara College Ecosystem Restoration students, local volunteers and stewardship groups. We are planning three community stewardship days to remove the invasive European Black Alder trees that are suckering, regenerating on the site.

- Friday, July 5 - 9-11 a.m.
- Friday, July 12 - 9-11 a.m.

What you will be doing:
- Learning about the impact of invasive species and identification of European Black Alder
- Removing and cutting young alders
- Bagging cuttings
- Re-seeding with native species
RAIN OR SHINE- PLEASE DRESS APPROPRIATELY
Please bring your own gaarden shears if possible!
Event hosted in partnership with Niagara Parks and Learn to Fish Ontario.
Join the Niagara River Remedial Action Plan team, and NPCA, on July 6, for a fun and engaging program that combines a practical teaching session with an hour of supervised hands–on fishing for kids, teens and adults.
Friendly instructors will explain how to use fishing equipment, share some basic tips about fish identification, and demonstrate how to fish legally, safely, and sustainably. Then, participants will fish the Upper Niagara River shoreline to put their knowledge to use!
Rods, reels, bait, and lifejackets will be provided. A fishing licence is not required for this event because it is free family fishing week in Ontario.
Space is limited; registration is required to attend. REGISTER HERE.

- Morning: 10:00am-12:00pm
- Afternoon: 1:00pm-3:00pm
- Once tickets are sold out, please note that walk-ins will be accepted on a first come first serve basis (spots cannot be guaranteed)

A few key things to note:
- Children under the age of 18 must be registered by and accompanied on site by an adult
- We recommend that participants bring appropriate sun protection including a sun hat.
- To participate in the Learn to Fish program at most locations, a day use and/or parking fees will apply
June 29 - July 7 is Family Fishing Week, so no license is required to drop a line!
Come out and enjoy prizes for the largest bass fish by weight with categories for adults and kids, as well as catch and release draw prizes.
Canoes are available for rent (limited numbers, first come, first serve). You can book a camping site to ensure an early start!
Worms and snacks are available for purchase on-site. Stay all day and enjoy trails, camping, swimming, canoeing and the park's beauty.

*LIVE WELLS required. No stringers permitted.
*Participants must register upon arrival before fishing and have a stamp.
*Gas motors prohibited.
*No fishing before 7 a.m. Final weigh-in is 12:45 pm.
*Catch and release only.
*All Ontario fishing regulations apply.

*Prizes by weight (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
Every year the Ontario Bolerama holds an event in which owners of a fiberglass trailer (hence the name Bolerama) gathers together to go camping and show off their prized possessions. This year marks the ninth gathering and will be held at the Long Beach Conservation Area.
Members of the community are invited to Long Beach to admire the beauty and uniqueness of these bolers and intereact with the Bolerama community!
Day-use admission applies- $14.50 for general admission to $11 for students and seniors.
Park admission fees support the maintenance of the park as well as other conservation efforts.

Paddle with a Purpose offers you the opportunity to enjoy recreational water activities while making a positive impact on the environment!
Join the NPCA and the Invasive Species Centre on TWO 'Paddle with a Purpose' events as part of the Rapid Response Program for European Water Chestnut in the Welland River.
In 2020, European Water Chestnut, an invasive aquatic plant, was discovered in the Welland River, ON. The Invasive Species Centre is leading a Rapid Response Program to remove this invasive plant from the Welland River with the help of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters and the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority.
