--ABOUT ALUS--
The ALUS program empowers farmers and ranchers to create sustainable, ecosystem-focused projects on marginal or environmentally sensitive lands, with a goal to enhance the valuable services these lands provide—such as clean air, clean water, and habitat for pollinators.
In communities where ALUS is active, the program provides cost-sharing support for the establishment and monitoring of projects such as wetland creation, erosion control, offsite watering systems and fencing off sensitive riparian areas, seeding native grasses, creation of pollinator habitat, and construction of eco-buffers.
