Statement from NPCA Chair, Sandy Annunziata: Mark Brickell Appointed CAO

"After a thorough and exhaustive search, I'm pleased to confirm the NPCA Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Mark Brickell as CAO/Secretary Treasurer of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority."

At a special meeting of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority Board of Directors held on Thursday, June 22, 2017, the Board appointed Mark Brickell as CAO/Secretary-Treasurer of the NPCA.

Brickell joined the NPCA in 2014 in NPCA's Operations division and has previously held leadership positions with Niagara Economic Development Corporation and Peel District School Board.

"I'd like to thank the CAO Steering Committee for their dedication and hard work; our HR Generalist Misti Ferrusi for her professionalism and talent; our Board of Directors for their thorough and thoughtful approach; the over 100 applicants for putting their name and qualifications forward. But most importantly our partners in the community for their patience as we went about selecting the most qualified candidate to fill this important role."

"Mark has shown incredible passion and dedication to the NPCA, both in his actions and his words. He has displayed a breadth of knowledge in areas of Conservation, Management, and Finance that should give confidence to the residents we serve within our watershed. On behalf of the Board, we are excited to welcome Mark, his wife Christine and their family to his new role at the NPCA."

The appointment of Brickell to the CAO position is effective immediately.

“I am humbled by the Board’s expression of confidence in me.  The work of the Conservation Authority is challenging, complex and often misunderstood.  I look forward to working with all our partners to further the understanding of this organization and its service to the Niagara Peninsula watershed.”  - Mark Brickell
