It’s that time of the year again and the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) is looking forward to recognizing the incredible achievements of various volunteers at its annual Conservation Awards in February 2019.
“The annual Conservation Awards is one of our most treasured events,” says Kerry Royer, Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator at NPCA. “It’s all about recognizing the efforts of those dedicated folks whose time, energy, passion, and knowledge help make the Niagara Peninsula watershed a truly great place to live.”
The NPCA invites community members to submit nominations for a prestigious acknowledgement—the Award of Merit. This award is bestowed on an individual, group, or business, that has contributed voluntarily to enhancing the health of the watershed and restoring the local environment for the benefit of all residents.
“While our volunteers aren’t looking for public recognition, or anything in return for that matter, the awards program is our opportunity to showcase the achievements of our nominees, and promote the significant impact of their efforts,” adds Mark Brickell, NPCA CAO. “As part of our 2018-2021 Strategic Plan, we have committed to growing our volunteer numbers to more than 3,500, and we hope this will encourage more people to get involved.”

Please note: nomination submissions are available to the public, NPCA Board Members, Committees, and staff. There are no fixed limits on the number of awards to be presented, allowing for flexibility of recognition. Nomination deadline is December 31, 2018, 4 p.m.
