Public Information Centre Held on Coyle Creek and Draper’s Creek Floodplain Mapping

The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) hosted the fourth Public Information Centre (PIC) on August 28 at the Welland Civic Centre in Welland. The session was an opportunity for the community to learn more about floodplain mapping and the final draft maps under review for Coyle Creek and Draper’s Creek.

The session focused on two important watercourses in the Niagara Peninsula watershed: Coyle Creek in the Town of Pelham, and Draper’s Creek which flows through both the Town of Pelham and the City of Welland. The final draft mapping ensures the updates reflect current land use and climate data, ensuring better flood risk management for the surrounding communities.

This session marks a key step in NPCA’s commitment to open dialogue and community engagement, as we work together to better understand local flood risk and support more informed decision-making.

Community members unable to attend can access project information, view materials, or submit feedback through the NPCA’s public engagement platform: Get Involved NPCA
