Construction is underway for a brand-new adventure park at Binbrook Conservation Area in the City of Hamilton.
The park, which is scheduled to open in May of 2019, will feature a variety of exciting forest-based adventure activities, catering to a wide range of ages and abilities.
“We are very excited to be coming to Hamilton to join such a vibrant and growing community,” says Mike Stiell, Marketing Director at Treetop Trekking. “We have been in talks with the NPCA for a number of years now and are thrilled to see this project come to fruition, and to share it with the residents of and visitors to the Hamilton area.”
This new amenity is being developed by Treetop Trekking Hamilton Inc, who will build and operate the park, in partnership with the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA), who own and manage Binbrook Conservation Area.
The park additions include a five-course, 80-element Zip Line & Aerial Game Park, where guests aged nine years and up can climb from tree to tree in the forest canopy on a series of bridges, walkways, and zip lines. Younger kids aged five and up will be able to explore two Discovery Courses, which are similar to the Aerial Game Courses but designed for younger explorers. The final activity, which has no age requirement, is called Treewalk Village. This activity area includes a network of ten colourful tree houses connected by enclosed walkways and bridges and other forest activities for the youngest kids.
These activities will be open to families, groups, schools, sports teams, corporate groups, and anyone else looking for a fun and active day outdoors.

The planning process for Treetop Trekking at Binbrook Conservation Area included a comprehensive Environmental Impact Study and the development of a Tree Preservation Plan, which received approval from the City of Hamilton and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
Treetop Trekking currently owns and operates five adventure parks in Ontario (Barrie, Brampton, Huntsville, Stouffville, and the Ganaraska Forest near Peterborough), three of which are also in conservation areas. The company also operates four adventure parks in Quebec under the name Arbraska.
