CELEBRATING NPCA VOLUNTEERS

The kindness and dedication of a single volunteer leads to the magic of many working together towards a common goal— a healthy and resilient watershed. While this past year made volunteering difficult in so many ways, our volunteers remained committed and continued offering their time, energy and knowledge through cultural heritage programs, community stewardship, educational programs, and citizen science. This week we take the opportunity to celebrate the value of one and the power of many.

While the NPCA is currently unable to host our annual Conservation Awards ceremony, we will plan to announce and honour the winners of the 2020 and 2021 Awards of Merit together next year when we can hold an in-person event. The Award of Merit started in 1994, and recognizes significant achievements or contributions by individuals, groups and/or businesses to improve and restore the local environment for all watershed residents. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with them when we can do so safely.

Thank you all for your dedication to this watershed. We applaud you!

Yours in Conservation,

Chandra Sharma
