The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) was established in 1959 under the Conservation Authorities Act, and serves approximately half a million people in the Niagara Peninsula Watershed, encompassing the entire Niagara Region and portions of the City of Hamilton and Haldimand County. The NPCA strives to manage the impact of human activities, urban growth and rural activities on the watershed, which includes some of the most sensitive and unique natural areas in Niagara. These lands are held in public trust, allowing the people of Niagara to enjoy its distinctive natural heritage at 42 Conservation Areas, each offering diverse recreational and educational opportunities and a place to experience nature’s beauty.

Summary of Duties

Reporting to the Manager, Communications & Public Relations, the Multimedia Specialist will have a strong graphic design background and be responsible for providing website, social media, marketing and graphic design support for the NPCA. Working collaboratively with engaged professionals across the organization, this role will help tell the story of the various NPCA events and projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

(a) Designs and prepares all artwork and graphics for web, digital, print, signage and advertising

(b) Creates visual layouts for social media, video, brochures and other publications

(c) Provides visual creative including photography, videography, and video editing

(d) Establishes and maintains a relevant and creative photo library for the organization

(e) Attends NPCA and related events to assist in promoting NPCA initiatives and capturing all necessary video/photography


• Post-secondary education in Graphic Design, Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Three (3) years’ experience in graphic design and website maintenance

• Experience managing social media and paid social and digital campaigns

• Strong knowledge of HTML, Adobe Creative Suite and CMS

• Excellent customer service skills

Salary Range:
Grade 4: $30.62/hr - $36.03/hr (35 hours/week)

Location: NPCA Main Office – 250 Thorold Rd W, Welland with travel within the watershed
