The fall season has officially wrapped up, and what a season it has been for the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) through its Trees for All program. With incredible enthusiasm, teamwork, and dedication, our partners, volunteers, and communities have come together to make a meaningful impact on the environment. This season’s planting efforts are not just about the trees - they’re about the partnerships, the collaboration, and the excitement for what’s to come in the next planting season.
A Record-Breaking Fall Planting Season
In total, NPCA planted an impressive 11,788 trees across 17 planting sites. More than 368 volunteers came together at 13 community planting events, bringing their passion and energy to help restore and enhance our green spaces. The fall planting season was not only a success in terms of the sheer number of trees but also in the depth of community involvement and the wide-reaching support from incredible partners.
Strength in Partnerships: Making a Difference Together
The strength of Trees for All lies in its partnerships, and this fall season was a perfect example of how collaboration can lead to meaningful change. The Trees for All program received 100 per cent support from municipal partners. United by a shared commitment to a healthier watershed, we bring together resources, expertise, and enthusiasm to accomplish far more than any one organization could alone—delivering lasting environmental and community benefits.
Here are some of the highlights:
- St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation supported the planting of 3,000 trees across two community planting events, showing their commitment to environmental stewardship.
- TD Tree Days supported the planting of 1,800 trees across three events in the watershed, showcasing the power of corporate responsibility in creating a more sustainable future.
- The City of St. Catharines contributed to the planting of 1,679 trees and 30 shrubs, hosting three community events that brought together residents eager to get their hands dirty for a greener tomorrow.
- The City of Welland saw the planting of 1,275 trees and 425 shrubs in two community events, contributing significantly to enhancing their local environment and supporting biodiversity.
- Niagara Parks Commission joined forces with NPCA to plant 1,550 trees, ensuring that Niagara’s iconic landscapes are further preserved for generations to come.

Looking Ahead: Spring Planting Season
As we reflect on the successes of the fall season, we can’t help but feel excited for what’s to come in the spring. The momentum generated by this fall’s efforts will undoubtedly carry into the next planting season, and we can already sense the growing enthusiasm in the communities we serve.
Spring brings fresh opportunities to plant more trees, increase community engagement, and deepen partnerships with organizations that share our mission to create a healthier, more sustainable environment. The spring planting season will be another chance to make a greater impact and continue the work we’ve started.
